Interland
Interland is an adventure-packed online game that makes learning about digital safety and citizenship interactive and fun—just like the Internet itself. Here, kids will help their fellow Internauts combat badly behaved hackers, phishers, oversharers, and bullies by practicing the skills they need to be good digital citizens.
Five fundamental topics of digital citizenship and safety form the Internet Code of Awesome:
1. Share with Care (Be Internet Smart)
The internet connects you to the world through messages, photos, and conversations. These connections are called a “digital footprint” that others can see. It’s extra important to be careful about what you share online, and who you share it with.
2. Don’t Fall for Fake (Be Internet Alert)
Phishing is when someone tries to steal information like your login or account details by pretending to be someone you trust in an email, text, or other online communication.
3. Secure Your Secrets (Be Internet Strong)
Personal privacy and security are just as important online as they are offline.
Protect yourself with a strong password.A strong password can secure your personal information, and help prevent scammers from stealing your personal info online.
4. It’s Cool to Be Kind (Be Internet Kind)
Treat others as you would like to be treated online by creating positive impact for others
and disempowering bullying behavior.
Be an internet Upstander. Learn how to share kindness, block the bullies, and report troublemakers.
5. When in Doubt, Talk It Out (Be Internet Brave)
When you think of being brave, do you think of superheroes from the movies?
Do you think of firefighters?
Do you think of someone you know in your community?
Those are great examples, but it’s important to remember that YOU are able to be brave too.
