Good digital citizens follow the same basic rules as a good citizen in the offline world.
Technology at STA
Technology provides us with many opportunities to learn and communicate in our rapidly growing digital world. Children especially need to learn to use this technology in good and appropriate ways as well as balance it with other life skills.
It is essential therefore to provide children with a framework of core values to help them understand issues concerning technology. With these areas defined children can begin to use technology responsibly as digital citizens.
Raising Responsible Digital Citizens
Digital citizenship refers to the use of technology safely and responsibly, and how to evaluate, manage and use the information and tools we find online.

It is now policy that schools must ensure that all staff and all students participate in Digital Citizenship training each year.
Digital citizenship is the acceptance and upholding of the norms of appropriate, responsible behaviour with regard to the use of digital technologies. This involves using digital technologies effectively and not misusing them to disadvantage others. Digital citizenship includes appropriate online etiquette, literacy in how digital technologies work and how to use them, an understanding of ethics and related law, knowing how to stay safe online, and advice on related health and safety issues such as predators and the permanence of data.
